Team Romney boasts of raising $112 million in first half of October
The Romney campaign took to Twitter on Thursday to tout having raised nearly $112 million in the first half of October alone.
Romney senior adviser Kevin Madden said:
In first half of October alone, @mittromney effort raised $111.8 million. #RomneyRyan2012

And Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul tweeted, with a little extra emphasis:
BOOM: In first half of October alone, @mittromney effort raised $111.8 million. #RomneyRyan2012

If that pace keeps up, the Romney campaign would be on pace to dwarf previous fundraising efforts by either campaign.
The Romney campaign raised $170 million in September, nearly matching President Obama's $181 million haul and far surpassing his previous record, an August effort that brought in just under $112 million.
September was the second consecutive month that the president has bested Romney in fundraising, reversing a trend from earlier in the summer that saw the Republican nominee regularly besting the incumbent president.
