

Hurricane Sandy overwhelms campaign policy discussion online
Less than a week from Election Day, Hurricane Sandy has wiped out taxes, jobs and the economy as the leading topics of conversation about the presidential campaigns, according to a study of social media conversation from Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Salesforce used Marketing Cloud to develop a regularly updated, real-time infographic analyzing social media chatter by aggregating and analyzing online conversations about the presidential campaign.
The software company measured mentions for the two campaigns across social and mainstream media, analyzing both conversations about the candidates and topics of interest according to relevant keywords.
Policy issues had been the leading topics surrounding the election coming out of the past month's debates and up until the last seven days.
