President Obama posted a get-out-the-vote message on Reddit, likely a last bid for the youth vote in the final hours before most polls close on Election Day.
“I'm checking in because polls will start closing in this election in just a few hours, and I need you to vote,” he wrote. “Think of it as upvoting.”
Obama demonstrated his familiarity with Reddit etiquette and jargon in the post, also thanking the community for its reception to his Ask Me Anything (AMA) chat in August. That AMA was the first ever by a sitting president on the popular social news website, which was founded in 2005.
“Good questions,” he wrote of his AMA. “Definitely not bad.”
The “not bad” line, which the president also used in August, is likely a reference to a meme known as “Not Bad Obama” that is popular on the site.
