Obama posts get-out-the-vote message on Reddit

Upvoting is the Reddit version of giving a thumbs-up and helps move important content to the top of the site so more users see it.

Obama demonstrated his familiarity with Reddit etiquette and jargon in the post, also thanking the community for its reception to his Ask Me Anything (AMA) chat in August. That AMA was the first ever by a sitting president on the popular social news website, which was founded in 2005.

“Good questions,” he wrote of his AMA. “Definitely not bad.”

The “not bad” line, which the president also used in August, is likely a reference to a meme known as “Not Bad Obama” that is popular on the site.
