Rob Lowe: Newt Gingrich on set of 'Parks & Rec'

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich could pop up in an episode of NBC's sitcom "Parks and Recreation" this season, according to a tweet from actor Rob Lowe on Monday.

The hashtag refers to "Parks & Rec," which is set in Pawnee, a fictional town in Indiana. Lowe is a regular cast member on the show and plays Chris Traeger, a government official.

Gingrich will only be the latest high-profile political star dropping by "Parks and Rec" this season. Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) and Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) appeared in the premiere, and Vice President Biden filmed a scene that aired earlier this month.
