Rep. Wasserman Schultz thanks Obama for show of support

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) thanked President Obama on Monday for supporting her bid to remain chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), a strong indication that she will retain the position next year.

Obama publicly tweeted his support for Wasserman Schultz to remain chairwoman earlier in the day, after reports indicated the president would back her once again for the position.

I've asked Debbie Wasserman Schultz to continue her excellent work as chair of the DNC. Thanks for all you do, Debbie. -bo

DNC elections are held in January after Obama is sworn in for his second term.
