

Connecticut lawmakers: Praying for Newtown
Like many others — both in Connecticut and not — lawmakers representing the state were "horrified" by news of an elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn., on Friday.
Reps. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) and Sen.-elect Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) both tweeted that they are praying, as full details slowly emerged from the incident.

Police responded to a reported shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School shortly after 9:30 Friday morning, according to CNN. Twenty-seven people, including many children, are reported dead in the incident.
