Hawaiian Rep. Hanabusa: 'Aloha' to Inouye

Rep. Colleen Hanabusa (D-Hawaii) wished her former colleague Dan Inouye a fond "aloha" on Monday, responding to news of his death.

My thoughts are with Irene, Kenny, and Sen. Inouye’s staff. Hawaii and our nation have lost a hero, a champion, and a great man. Aloha Dan.

Sen. Inouye (D-Hawaii), the most senior member of the upper chamber, had been hospitalized since last week. He died on Monday. He was 88.

The senator's final word was "Aloha," and his last wish that Hanabusa replace him in the Senate, according to his office.
