Republicans celebrate news colleague is cancer-free

Rep. Dave Camp's (R-Mich.) colleagues greeted news on Tuesday that he is cancer-free as an early Christmas gift.

"We continue praying for all those affected by cancer," House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said in a tweet celebrating the good news. Many other Republicans also tweeted that they were happy to hear Camp's report.

The Ways and Means Committee Chairman announced Tuesday that he is cancer-free, following treatments for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Camp underwent chemotherapy for what he called "very early, highly treatable and curable type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma" for several months this fall. He lost his hair during the process but continued working.
