The “Argo” director and star is testifying about the Congo at a committee hearing, and took several meetings with members of Congress beforehand.

Along with being a likely frontrunner for the Oscars next year, Affleck is a humanitarian who founded the Eastern Congo Initiative. He has testified before Congress several times on the crisis in the Congo.
