

Sen. McCain tweets 6 book recommendations for 2012
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is ready to save the day for those who have not finished their Christmas shopping.
In the past, McCain has asked his Twitter followers for book suggestions. But on Wednesday, he’s giving back with his list of six “recommended books for the holidays,” which he tweeted would also work as last-minute gift ideas for next week’s holiday.

McCain’s suggestions range from history books to popular novels, and most were published in 2012.
His list: The nonfiction tome “The Generals: American military command from World War II to today” by Thomas E. Ricks; the bestselling mystery novel “Gone girl” by Gillian Flynn; biography “Catherine the Great: Portrait of a woman” by Robert K. Massie; another bestseller, “Room: A novel” by Emma Donoghue; biography of a city “Jerusalem” by Simon Sebag Montefiore; classic “For whom the bell tolls” by Ernest Hemingway.
