Sen. McCain demos 'wackiest' Christmas card from House colleague

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) thanked Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.) for making light of the so-called "fiscal cliff" on Friday, after receiving her Christmas card.

Sanchez is known for her quirky Christmas cards, but this year's theme was the best in years, according to McCain.

The card reads: “May you dance with joy this holiday season…(just not too close to fiscal cliffs.)”

Sanchez and her husband Jack Einwechter appear on the front of the card.

“Humor can be the best way to break the ice. I hope this card gives everyone a chuckle," Sanchez said of the card earlier this week. 

The "fiscal cliff" refers to the deadlines at the end of the year that trigger automatic spending cuts and the expiration of current tax rates, which both parties are negotiating to avoid.
