Sen. Cruz impressed by new desk assignment

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Tuesday shared a photo of his new desk on the Senate Floor, tweeting that its previous occupants included such legendary former senators as Richard Nixon (R-Calif.), Barry Goldwater (R-Ariz.) and Phil Gramm (R-Texas).

At the start of a new Congress, senators are given the option to change desks based on seniority.

Freshman Cruz, who was quite active on his campaign's Twitter account, debuted his official senatorial Twitter account on Tuesday @SenTedCruz. He already has more than 2,700 followers there.
