Michelle Obama 'proud' of Beyoncé halftime performance

First lady Michelle Obama joined much of America in tweeting about the Super Bowl on Sunday night, congratulating the Baltimore Ravens on their win and her friend Beyoncé Knowles-Carter on her halftime performance.

It's not the first time Michelle and Beyoncé have used social media to display some mutual admiration. In April of last year, the singer posted a note to the first lady on her Tumblr page calling her “the ultimate example of a truly strong African American woman." The pop star went on to say she was "proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to."

During the campaign, Beyoncé and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, hosted and performed at campaign fundraisers for the president's reelection effort.
