Rubio, Netanyahu poke fun at water bottle gaffe
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is continuing to hear about his now-infamous swig from a water bottle — even halfway across the world.
Rubio was in Israel this week as part of a larger tour of the Middle East. While in Jerusalem, Rubio met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the pair raised water bottles in a sly gesture toward Rubio's lunge for a water bottle in the midst of his response to President Obama's State of the Union address. The moment was captured by Rubio's press secretary on Twitter:
Thanks to @israelipm for supplying plenty of water bottles at today's meeting in Jerusalem twitter.com/AlexConant/sta…

"Send the liberal detractors a message that not only does Marco Rubio inspire you ... he hydrates you too," the website selling the bottle — emblazoned with Rubio's last name in a tall red font — says.
Time magazine reported Wednesday the PAC has sold more than 4,000 water bottles, raising some $119,200 in the week since the incident.
Rubio has repeatedly made fun of the moment, which has earned widespread discussion on social media and late-night television.
“I mean I needed water, what am I going to do?” Rubio quipped during ABC’s "Good Morning America." During that and many of his other post-speech interviews, Rubio has self-deprecatingly taken another swig of water.
“God has a funny way of reminding us that we’re human," Rubio said.
