While making his annual college basketball picks earlier in the week, Obama selected No. 2-seed Ohio State to advance past Notre Dame into the Sweet Sixteen. ESPN host Andy Katz asked Obama what he thought of Notre Dame's uniforms, which debuted in the Big East tournament and featured Zubaz-inspired stripes.

"I am wearing a green tie today because we’ve got the Irish prime minister visiting. But that neon glow thing wasn’t working for me," Obama said.

Obama predicted that Indiana would prevail over overall No. 1 seed Louisville in the tournament championship game, besting Florida and Ohio State in the Final Four.
