A Connecticut lawmaker used florid language to describe his return on Monday to Washington, D.C. on Amtrak.

Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) tweeted aboard a train back to the nation's capital, expressing hope that the Senate will continue to work in a "constructive" manner on healthcare reform:

Hurtling on gleaming rails back to DC. Big week on financial regulatory reform. Hopefully constructive healthcare work in the "other body".

Though the House is in session today, many lawmakers use Monday as a travel day to return from their districts. The House has been in recess in observance of Veterans' Day since Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee chairman Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) said today that the Senate would likely work every weekend in December in order to pass healthcare legislation by Christmas.
