Secret Service to brief Oversight Committee on W.H. crashers

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee announced Tuesday it will be the only congressional panel to be briefed on the White House state dinner crasher incident.

The committee Democrats' official Twitter account sent out the news:

Tomorrow the Secret Service will brief Oversight Committee Members only regarding the recent White House Security Breach #statedinner

Oversight chairman Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.) on Saturday asked for a briefing into how the couple gained access to the White House despite not having an official invitation to the dinner last Tuesday in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

House Homeland Security Committee chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) has also asked dinner dinner crashers Michaele and Tareq Salahi and Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan to testify before his panel. Sullivan will reportedly testify before the panel, though it is not clear if the couple will follow.

After getting into the dinner, the Salahis snapped pictures with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and other dignitaries.
