Cornyn hits back at Dems' recovery efforts

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tx.) has no doubts that Republicans could do better at stimulating economic recovery.

Tweeted Cornyn on Saturday morning:

A better stimulus plan: Have Congress adjourn until 2011?

It is not clear what news, specifically, provoked the Texas Republican to reaffirm that Republicans will win big in 2010 and outperform Democrats on fiscal issues in 2011.

But the senator's timing suggests his tweet was his reaction to President Barack Obama's radio address this morning, in which the president promised he would unveil his job creation ideas next week.

"History tells us this is usually what happens with recessions – even as the economy grows, it takes time for jobs to follow," Obama said in his address. "But the folks who have been looking for work without any luck for months and, in some cases, years, can’t wait any longer. For them, I’m determined to do everything I can to accelerate our progress so we’re actually adding jobs again."
