Huckabee donates Twitter background to Rubio

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) is showing his support for Florida Senate candidate Marco Rubio (R) in a unique way: he has dedicated his Twitter background to him.

The backdrop of Huckabee's official Twitter site contains a picture of Rubio accompanied by several endorsement quotes including one from Huckabee. The background has been up for several weeks.

"He is the face and future of the Republican Party," Huckabee said in November. 

Huckabee's use of his Twitter backdrop to back Rubio is uncommon amongst political tweeters. HuckPAC endorses a number of political candidates nationwide.

HuckPAC, the ex-governor's political action committee, has backed Rubio over Gov. Charlie Crist (R-Fla.) in the state's Senate primary. Many grassroots conservatives have rallied around Rubio and have criticized Crist for straying too much to the center, often citing his support for the federal stimulus bill.

Crist has since backed away from his support.
