Rubio's admits fashion faux pas
Florida Senate candidate Marco Rubio (R) is probably going to avoid wearing plaid for a while, after the mockery he suffered for it on Thursday.
The Republican contender, who is seeking to knock off Gov. Charlie Crist (R) in his party's tough 2010 primary, showed up at the Plant City Strawberry Festival earlier this month wearing a green-grey, pocketed, plaid shirt -- a getup the Miami Herald later dressed down as "Forrest-Gump like."
"Well, it's not exactly a drunken college keg party picture, but we're guessing Marco Rubio will regret this fashion choice posted on Facebook recently," its Naked Politics blog wrote in jest.
Rubio, however, took notice on Thursday, and offered this explanation for the outfit -- and even a link to the photo -- on Twitter:
Went shopping for clothes w/o jeanette. http://miamiherald.typepad.com/nakedpolitics/2010/01/marco-rubio-in-plaid-so-not-south-beach.html
Interestingly enough, the photo no longer seems to be available on Rubio's Facebook page.
