Obama tweets after Gtown-Duke game
Like most sports nuts, President Barack Obama was impressed by Saturday's much-anticipated Duke-Georgetown college basketball game
At the game's conclusion -- which Georgetown won, 89-77 -- Obama tweeted:
Departing the Duke-Georgetown game. Two great teams -- great game.
A handful of White House officials spent Saturday afternoon court side at the Verizon Center to watch the No. 7 Georgetown Hoyas host the No. 8 Duke Devils.
Sitting with the president were Vice President Joe Biden, personal assistant Reggie Love, White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod and Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.
Obama, for most of the game, seemed not to exhibit a preference for either team. But when he joined CBS host Clark Kellogg to offer a little impromptu color commentary later in the game, he noted he had been "impressed, at least in the first half, with the guards from Georgetown."
Ultimately, it was the pair of CBS hosts who were impressed with Obama's commentary skills. The president replied he enjoyed the opportunity, though he quickly joked that their jobs could be in jeopardy in either three or seven years, depending on the outcome of his 2012 re-election race.
