A top Republican senator said Wednesday that it is not hypocritical for members of his party to tout projects funded by the federal stimulus project.
Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) made his comments on the one-year anniversary of the $787 billion bill.

Cornyn pushed back against the narrative being pushed by Democrats that Republicans have been hypocritical in promoting stimulus-backed projects in their district.
The Democratic National Committee has specifically targeted 93 Republicans for promoting stimulus projects in their districts.
