McCain calls Obama statement on Syria 'disappointing'

By Daniel Strauss

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) panned President Obama's statement Friday that a "line has been crossed" but that "direct evidence" is still needed to verify Syria's chemical weapons attack.

Earlier on Friday, Obama at the White House, speaking next to King Abdullah of Jordan, said the United States, as well as a number of other countries, is currently in the process of confirming reports of Syria's chemical weapons attack against rebels in the country.

"Knowing that there's chemical weapons in Syria doesn't tell us when they were used or how they were used," Obama said. "We ourselves will be putting a lot of resources on this."

Bill Clinton adopts 'more dignified' Twitter handle

By Justin Sink

Former President Clinton technically sent his first tweet earlier this month, when comedian Stephen Colbert urged the former president to join the social network during an appearance at the Clinton Global Initiative.

Anthony Weiner returns to Twitter with new handle

By Justin Sink

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) has rejoined Twitter, the social media service that led to his resignation.

The former lawmaker, who is considering a bid for New York City mayor, launched a new, verified account under the handle @anthonyweiner on Monday. In his inaugural tweet, Weiner pointed followers toward his 64-point plan to aid the city's middle class — a document many see as the blueprint for his possible mayoral campaign.
