New Interior Secretary Sally Jewell is tweeting about her enthusiasm for the job during her first full day at work.
Jewell said Monday on the social media site Twitter that she’s “honored & humbled” and “ready to get to work on behalf of all Americans.”
“I look forward to working w/ great employees @Interior, Congress & citizens to oversee our public lands & waters,” Jewell said in another tweet.

The daughter of the Sandy Hook Elementary School principal who was gunned down in December's massacre tweeted messages on Wednesday at the 14 Republican senators who have threatened a filibuster of the Senate gun bill.
Erica Lafferty said that only one — Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) — responded, leading to a 20-minute phone conversation with the lawmaker.
“It was really just me asking him why he wasn’t doing his job,” Lafferty told MSNBC on Wednesday. “You know, the point of Congress is to debate and to vote and he’s choosing to not do that."

While the White House insists it isn't concerned by recent polling showing the president's approval rating dipping, former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe lashed out at polling firm Gallup on Twitter Thursday.
During the 2012 presidential campaign, the polling firm consistently showed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney either in the lead or performing better than he had other national polls. At the time, the Obama campaign questioned the firm's methodology, a complaint validated by the president's commanding win in November.
