Kos calls on Harman to resign

By Michael O'Brien - 04/20/09 07:12 AM ET
Markos Moulitsas, the founder of the influential liberal blog Daily Kos, called on Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.) to resign after having been reportedly agreeing to lobby the Justice Department on behalf of the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Harman had reportedly told AIPAC she would lobby DoJ to reduce the criminal espionage charges against a suspected Israeli agent.

"Jane Harman should resign," the liberal netroots leader tweeted Monday, wasting no time in putting the pressure on Harman.

Moulitsas has made accountability for Democrats a key element of his 2010 midterm election efforts. In addition to targeting ethically suspect Democrats along with the normal Republican targets, Moulitsas -- like many other bloggers -- has emphasized the need to place pressure on Democrats like Harman, a centrist, Blue Dog lawmaker.
