Polis now free to tweet again

By Michael O'Brien - 04/10/09 06:38 AM ET
Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) is out of Afghanistan after a congressional CODEL, he tweeted Friday.

Polis, a regular Twitter user, has maintained radio silence while overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He tweeted Friday:
I'm now safely out of Afghanistan! I'm doing a live call from the middle east today, 11 am Mtn Time, call 877-229-8493 and press 14802

He similarly tweeted after leaving Iraq earlier this week.

Tweeting while in those countries has been a sensitive national security issue. Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.) drew some negative attention for revealing a group's location in Iraq.
