ABC's Tapper enjoying Obama's European trip so far

By Michael O'Brien - 03/31/09 03:52 AM ET
ABC White House correspondent Jake Tapper seems to maybe be enjoying President Obama's first trip to Europe as president than the commander-in-chief himself.

Tapper, like many media personalities covering the trip, flew in advance of the president (who departed Andrews Air Force base moments ago) to head to London for the G-20 summit.

Tapper started out last night pulling his best "Superman":
passports, press credentials, getting out of suit into overnight plane clothes like clark kent in a phone booth

Tapper then proceeded to make a bit of a joke about one of the last G-20 summits with former President Bush, in which he gave German Chancellor Angela Merkel an awkward shoulder rub. He tweeted:
little known fact about such summits: it is permitted to give surprise shoulder massages called "merkels"

Tapper then checked in with an update as he did a little light reading over a glass of red wine, tweeting:
am i rocking this briefing book over a merlot? ARE THE CENTRAL BANKS MAINTAINING EXPANSIONARY POLICIES??!

Then, after Tapper arrived in London, he had a bit of a quiz for his Twitter followers:
as they say in London, "good morning!" we're here for the G-20. quick-name them all!!

Finally, apparently unimpressed by all the correct answers, Tapper tweeted a call-out for his fans:
tweeps, when i ask u to tell me the G-20 countries and u list them in alphabetical order, i suspect youre using wikipedia. love, jake
