Michigan AG Cox: Double-standard for automakers

By Michael O'Brien - 03/30/09 05:11 AM ET
Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, a Republican candidate for governor, indicated Monday via Twitter that there is a perceived double standard for Wall Street companies and automakers.

He tweets:
Obama fires Wagoner but keeps Geithner. Lectures auto companies but lets off Wall Street.

To be sure, the health of Detroit's Big 3 will be a big issue in the 2010 gubernatorial elections, as well as the midterm congressional elections in the Wolverine state.

We'll be keeping an eye out for lawmaker and opinion leader tweets on the Obama administration's annoucements about the auto industry throughout the day.
