We've got to hand it to Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R), and any other politician who pays homage to the spirit of Lord Stanley's Cup.
Pawlenty tweeted Saturday night:
Wrenched back playing hockey. Thankful for chiropractor. Getting old, but in the spirit of season of Lord Stanley's Cup, will play hurt.
That spirit is alive and well, despite the Minnesota Wild having missed the playoffs.
But that doesn't mean there's not good hockey going on; the Detroit Red Wings beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1 in the first game of the Stanley Cup finals on Saturday night. Game two is Sunday night.
