Rubio tweeted Monday:
Asking my facebook friends who have sent a message to me to be patient with me. They are backed up and I have not had chance to get to them.

Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) is making his way to work, and it's quite the commute.
Jones tweeted Monday that he's driving up to Washington for his work in Congress this week:
Driving up to Washington, DC for a busy week of hearings, votes and meetings.... As of today your share of the national debt is $36,791.18
Though we can't say for sure whether or not he was in his district over the weekend, if Jones is driving from his Farmville, N.C. residence, then he's got quite the drive ahead of him.
By eschewing flying, Jones has almost a 4.5 hour drive ahead of him, according to Google Maps.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) lamented Monday that the College Board -- the company that administers the SAT and Advanced Placement (AP) tests for high schoolers -- will drop Latin literature from its language testing curriculum.
Issa tweeted a link to an op-ed in last Thursday's Washington Post in which students at the all-boys prep school St. Anselm's in D.C. declaimed the end of the AP Latin Lit exam.
Issa tweeted Monday:
"Et tu, College Board?" Ab actu ad posse valet illatio. http://bit.ly/vjhOI Another pillar of education totters.
Google tells us that the Latin phrase in Issa's post means, "From the past one can infer the future," in English.

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) was sure to welcome some fellow Ohioans who joined Twitter recently with a welcome tweet on his own feed.
Ryan tweeted Monday:
Excited to see @joeschiavoni and @Ted_Strickland on Twitter.
Strickland, of course, is the governor of the swing state, while Schiavoni is a state senator from Youngstown.
Strickland's first tweet came last Tuesday, May 12, when he endorsed a candidate for state auditor. The governor's most recent tweet came Saturday:
spoke at the Race for the Cure this morning. It was incredibly moving to see such strength and courage from families and survivors.

Larry King has stumbled across a mystery:
kingsthings in baseball... why 4 balls and 3 strikes??
King is a sparse but entertaining tweeter. One of his previous gems:
kingsthings why is twitter broken down twice a day? makes me want to go back to a cup & string!
Larry--there's a middle ground!

Twitter Room has come across a lot of crazy tweets in our existence. But we've never seen a Congressman tweet from an airplane while preparing to jump out of it:
Ladies and gentlemen, Rep. Bob Inglis (R-S.C.):
Headed now to jump site with 101st Airborne Parachute Demonstration team. Hoping the weather clears so I get to jump with America's best.
Just boarded plane for jump. Going to go up and look for some blue sky. If we find it, I get to jump with the 101st Airborne!
These guys are amazing. Great to be able to see what they do. In training they jump into stable places. In war they jump into battlefields.
Perfectly good airplane and in a few minutes, weather permitting, the door will open and I'm going out with the Sergeant.
Looks like it's a go. We've found some blue sky!
That last tweet was 11 minutes ago. Congressman, if you tweet while jumping, you might even surpass Chuck Grassley as Congress's top tweeter.
