Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), a usually frequent Twitter-er, is dedicating her feed to her own mother Sunday, on Mother's Day.
McCaskill relayed some fun family vignettes this morning, and promised to talk more about her mom throughout the day.
McCaskill tweeted on her mom's intelligence:
Today I will only tweet about my mom. She's special and amazing. Strong and opinionated. Street and Jeopardy smart.
On car games growing up:
I have two sisters, one brother. Growing up my mom would get us in the station wagon by yelling "Last one in the car is a Republican!"
And on her own plans for Mother's Day:
Taking Mom to brunch today. Then my son(only one home from school) taking me to Star Trek. And it's a beautiful day.

After a Twitter-fied White House Correspondents' Association dinner last night, the D.C. Twitter scene has returned to normal, with last minute gossip about brunches and pundits hitting the morning show circuit.
The Associated Press's Philip Elliot was back at the White House:
is at work at 1600 the morning after prom. CapFile party was solid; cab situation was not. #nerdprom
The Washington Times's Amanda Carpenter is getting ready for CNN:
Up and at 'em. I'll be on CNN's Reliable Sources in the 10am hour and then on MSNBC around 11:30am.
And Air America's Ana Marie Cox is on her way to John McLaughlin's brunch:
As requested: Post-Hamm (meeting him, I mean!) #bedhead. And #nerdprom not over! McLauglin brunch later. http://twitpic.com/4wyel

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), both a mother and a grandmother, sent out some unsolicited Mother's Day advice with which most every mom could probably identify.
Palin told her nearly 18,000 followers on Twitter to wax poetic over their moms tomorrow, tweeting:
Mother's Day tomorrow! Gift advice: write your mom an original poem, I guarantee that's what she wants! And clean the house. With a smile:)

Don't expect Rep. John Barrow (D-Ga.) to show his face at tonight's White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
He's spending the day at an onion parade, before he heads over to the pinetree festival.
Barrow tweeted Saturday:
glennville sweet onion parade then heading over to swainsboro for the pinetree festival

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) made sure to let her new Twitter followers know she had a good day Friday, when she had some ethics allegations dropped against her.
Palin tweeted:
Great day! Another frivolous ethics complaint against me was dismissed! I won against another false allegation, too! More info to follow...
We wonder which classic 1990s tune Palin went with to celebrate: Ice Cube's " Today was a good day," or the Smashing Pumpkins' "Today."

Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Wash.) made sure to tweet a shout-out to his home state's Pediatric Interim Care Center (PIIC), which is holding its annual luncheon today.
PIIC is a medical center for newborns that, according to its site, provides specialized and round-the-clock care to drug-affected and medically fragile infants.
Reichert took part in the luncheon, tweeting:
at the PICC luncheon, it is packed.
And then:
about to speak with my granddaughter Emma, she was adopted from PICC
