Journalist Matthew Cooper is bringing down the mood on Twitter today, taking a last visit to Conde Nast's Portfolio offices.
Portfolio announced earlier this week that they'd be closing down due to a lack of profitability. Cooper was a contributor to the magazine after having left Time.
He tweeted Wednesday:
Visiting @portfolio at Conde Nast, trying to spend last of the cafeteria money on my security card.

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) and his Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) PAC mixed it up Wednesday, erupting in a small Twitter skirmish.
DeMint was anything but subtle Wednesday in expressing his feelings about Sen. Arlen Specter's defection to the Democratic Party, tweeting about a site his PAC had set up, SpecterVsToomey.com.
DeMint tweeted Wednesday morning:
Specter vs. Toomey. You decide. www.spectervstoomey.com #tcot
The terse tweet linked through to an SCF website, where as of early afternoon, Toomey steadily outpaced Specter, where some commenters called Specter a "political transvestite" who engages in "vote-whoring."
Not to be outdone, though, Specter's Twitter feed -- which he has employed as a cudgel against Toomey long before switching parties -- also tweeted a link to the site, where Specter has made up ground since an early deficit.
Specter tweeted:
Please visit http://www.spectervstoomey.com and vote.
DeMint and the fun have been far from friendly to Specter before the switch. DeMint had previously endorsed Toomey in the Pennsylvania Republican primary.

Google News has now joined Twitter, tweeting news headlines to followers of its feed.
The channel @GoogleNews will expand the reach of the controversial aggregation, which some news organizations have criticized for undercutting revenue flows.
The launch pairs with another advancement for Google, particularly in the launch of Google Profiles, which Information Week has indicated may be part of a broader strategy by Google to personalize news streams.
Google announced the feed on its blog.

These wasps? No.
How about these? Nay.
Rather, Ros-Lehtinen tweeted:
Will speak on House floor on my bill to honor WASPS. No, not those wasps. The Women Airforce Service Pilots: 38 died in WW2. 300 still alive

Let it be known: Rep. Bob Inglis (R-S.C.) is the Congressional champion of the annual ACLI Capital Challenge.
Inglis called out Reps. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.) and Gresham Barrett (R-S.C.) for dodging this weekend's 5K run and declared via Twitter that he appears headed toward a championship.
Inglis tweeted Wednesday:
Getting ready to run in the ACLI 5 K here in DC. Team Barrett dropped. Lipinski is sidelined. We've got a shot at a title (most spirited?)

Please consider donating to our campaign http://bit.ly/AtKGU #tcot #specter #pasen
