Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) is out of Afghanistan after a congressional CODEL, he tweeted Friday.

Polis, a regular Twitter user, has maintained radio silence while overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He tweeted Friday:

He similarly tweeted after leaving Iraq earlier this week.

Tweeting while in those countries has been a sensitive national security issue. Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.) drew some negative attention for revealing a group's location in Iraq.

Former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.) is greeting one of the most solemn dates on the Christian calendar with a most unusual tweet.

He tweeted Good Friday:

As soon as Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN started showing this morning's car chase in southern California, Washington's twitterati immediately took notice.

ABC News's Jake Tapper backed Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's harsh condemnation of piracy on the open seas, but was sure to make an exception for America's favorite pirates: those of the Caribbean.
