Virginia Democrats will have an opportunity to question primary candidates for governor via Twitter and other social networking sites in what may be the first gubernatorial debate hosted by the liberal netroots of blogs.
Democratic candidates for governor Creigh Deeds, Terry McAuliffe and Brian Moran will participate in a debate April 29th hosted by Huffington Post, Virginia Tech's campus newspaper, and liberal blogs firedoglake and Not Larry Sabato.
"You can ask as many questions as you want- and they will all be given equal consideration," Not Larry Sabato wrote in the event's announcement.
The sites are soliciting questions through Twitter and YouTube ahead of the debate, marking maybe one of the first netroots-driven political campaign events in modern history.
Check out the Twitter feed for the debate here.

Markos Moulitsas ("kos" of Daily Kos) dealt some sage advice for baseball fans on Monday to mark the 2009 Opening Day of baseball.
He tweeted:
Happy Baseball Day! And as every year, believe it or not, there are more teams than the Red Sox and Yankees playing.
Check out today's matchups here. While the Yankees are set to play the Orioles (where Vice President Biden will throw the opening pitch), the Rays-Red Sox opener has been postponed due to weather.

Sen. Claire McCaskill, a consummate sports fan, appears to be waiting with bated breath for baseball's opening day like millions of other Americans.
But also like a number of Americans, she'll encounter an early April game spoiled by poor weather conditions.
She tweeted Monday:
Going to studio for live radio with KTRS 550. Brrrrrr. Its spitting snow in St Louis. What yucky weather for opening day.
McCaskill's St. Louis Cardinals take on the Pittsburgh Pirates this afternoon in St. Louis at 4:15 p.m. EST.

"An Inconvenient Truth" isn't the name of a successful environmental documentary by a former vice president to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.).
Rather, he alleged Monday, it is that vouchers for Washington D.C. school children work.
Issa tweeted Monday:
DC vouchers work. Did Obama sit on that inconvenient truth while Congressional Dems axed the program? http://bit.ly/3JxIxO #tcot #education

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich summed up his thoughts on the left in this tweet today:
The left blames everything on america It is one of the biggest differences between the left and the rest of us They instinctively blame us
This, of course, raises the question, who does the right blame?
