The government's budget should be a bit more like a family's budget, MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer insisted on Twitter Wednesday.
Brewer, who hails from Maine, said the government could learn a bit from American families. She tweeted:
Why can't gov't budget be more like a wise family's. Live within your means, save for the unexpected, use debt only 4 true investments.

London Mayor Boris Johnson, whose city is playing host to the G-20 summit in London, took to Twitter to send a message to CBS anchor Katie Couric, who is abroad covering the trip.
Johnson, known for his occasional outlandish remarks, had seen that Couric had been speaking about him, and responded in kind.
He tweeted:
Just seen that Katie Couric has described me as a blonde Beatle - hope its a compliment? Her Sarah Palin impression is awesome!
The confusing swipe may reference Couric's interviews with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) during the 2008 presidential election, during which the Republican vice presidential nominee made several key missteps.

ABC's Jake Tapper claimed Wednesday that if Americans think their news industry is slanted toward the left, then they would be shocked by coverage in British newspapers.
Tapper, who is in London to cover President Obama's trip to the G-20 summit, noted the coverage of Israel's new prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Tapper tweeted:
Those who think US media is biased should check out European media.saw a report on Netanyahu that couldve been written by Hanan Ashrawi.
