Real estate mogul Donald Trump is joining the chorus of conservative activists upset with Karl Rove over his decision to launch a new super-PAC aimed at aiding more electable candidates. Trump blasted Rove as "a total loser" on Twitter on Thursday.
Rove, a former Bush aide and major Republican fundraiser, launched the Conservative Victory Project earlier this week. The political action committee's stated intent is to aid Republican candidates it considers more viable in a general election, but the group has come under fire from some grassroots groups who argue that the party establishment is attempting to crowd out their efforts.
Trump, whose subscription to "birther" conspiracy theories has won him favor with some in the Tea Party, argued the last election cycle cast doubt on Rove's political instincts.

Lena Dunham, the co-creator of HBO's "Girls" and star of a controversial YouTube video for President Obama's reelection campaign, took to Twitter on Thursday to refute a report that claimed she didn't cast a ballot in the presidential election.
New York political blog Room Eight reported Wednesday that Dunham was registered to vote in Brooklyn but did not cast a ballot in 2012. But, as Dunham explained on Twitter, trouble with an absentee ballot forced her to vote provisionally.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) issued a statement Tuesday offering condolences to the family of sniper Chris Kyle, a day after Paul's father, former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), posted a controversial tweet about Kyle's murder.
“Chris Kyle was a hero like all Americans who don the uniform to defend our country," Rand Paul told Breitbart News. "Our prayers are with his family during this tragic time.”
Kyle, a veteran of five combat tours in Iraq, was thought to be the deadliest sniper in American military history, killing 160 people. He and another veteran were killed at a shooting range Saturday by a former Marine who was thought to be suffering from combat-related mental health issues.

Former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) is drawing criticism Monday for comments he made on Twitter about the death of a Navy Seal killed this weekend at a gun range.
Chris Kyle, a veteran of five combat tours in Iraq, was thought to be the deadliest sniper in American military history, killing 160 people. He and another veteran were shot to death at a shooting range Saturday by a former Marine who was thought to be suffering from combat-related mental health issues.
From reports, Kyle was helping Eddie Routh, his alleged shooter, treat his condition with so-called Prolonged Exposure Therapy. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, suffers of post-traumatic stress disorder "practice approaching situations that are safe but which [they] may have been avoiding because they are related to the trauma."
