AGRICULTURE: Michael A. Andrews and Ronnie R. Volkening are listed as lobbyists by 7-Eleven on a Senate registration form filed by the convenience store chain. The two will work on issues related to agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration, according to filings with the Senate.

APPROPRIATIONS: Jeffery Walter of the Walter Group has registered to lobby for several new clients. According to Senate registration forms, Walter will lobby for the Colon Cancer Alliance and Parents Anonymous, a support group, on appropriations bills, and for JP Morgan Chase & Co. on tax issues.

DEFENSE: Hyjek & Fix Inc. has registered to lobby for several new clients on defense issues. According to registration forms filed with the Senate, the lobbying firm will assist Explo Inc. of Louisiana in securing ammunition demilitarization contracts with the Department of Defense. Donald J. Fix, Steven M. Hyjek and Karl H. Stegenga are listed as lobbyists on the issue. Hyjek & Fix submitted separate forms to lobby for West Valley Partners of Glendale, Ariz., Infousa Inc. and Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld LLP on various defense issues.

ENVIRONMENT: Paul Noe, a former counselor and administrator at the Office of Management and Budget’s office of information and regulatory affairs, is one of three lobbyists listed by C&M Capitolink to lobby for the Risk Policy Coalition, which is reviewing the Environmental Protection Agency’s dioxin risk assessment. Deborah Atwood and Patrick Donnelly are also listed on the registration form filed with the Senate.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS: American Continental Group has registered to lobby for Western Union, the money transfer service. According to a registration form filed with the Senate, the group will employ lobbyists David Metzner, Shawn Smeallie and Carlyle Thorsen to work on general international affairs issues. The group has also registered to lobby for Public Financial Management of Philadelphia on New Orleans redevelopment.

A Kuwaiti construction firm has hired C&M Capitolink to represent it before congressional committees, according to a registration form filed with the Senate. Paul Behrends is the only lobbyist listed on the registration form filed for First Kuwaiti General Trading and Contracting.
