•AGRICULTURE. Nethercutt Consulting, founded by former Rep. George Nethercutt (R-Wash.), is lobbying for the Priest Lake Permitees Association, Senate lobbying records show. The issue relates to federal lease fees imposed by the United States Forest Service.
•APPROPRIATIONS. Cassidy & Associates is lobbying for Seattle University for federal appropriations. Christine O’Connor and Gerald Warburg of Cassidy are lobbying for the school.
•DATA SECURITY. Capitol Hill Consulting Group is lobbying for ChoicePoint, a data services company, on data security bills introduced this year. John Blount is listed on registration forms as lobbying for ChoicePoint.
•ENVIRONMENT. Barbour Griffith & Rogers is lobbying for the Pew Campaign for Fuel Efficiency on fuel standards under review in Congress. The lobbying team includes Eric Burgeson, former chief of staff to Energy Department Secretary Samuel Bodman.
•FINANCIAL SERVICES. American Express has hired Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld to lobby on credit card issues, according to Senate lobbying forms. Akin Gump’s David Carlin, Smith Davis, Janine Jones, Josh Tzuker and Valerie White are listed as lobbying for American Express.
Foley & Lardner is lobbying for the National Futures Association on efforts to update the Commodity Exchange Act. Lobbyists Vicki Hicks and Lance Kotschwar of Foley & Lardner are working on behalf of the trade group.
•LOCAL. Greenville Utilities Commission has hired the Ferguson Group and lobbyist Melissa Hyman to lobby on appropriations bills, Senate registration records show.
•MISCELLANEOUS. Petrizzo Strategic Group is lobbying for United Catcher Boats, a trade group. Chris Fidler, Omar Franco, Justin LeBlanc and T.J. Petrizzo are lobbying on language relating to vessel replacement as defined in a broader Coast Guard bill. •TAXES. Washington Council Ernst & Young are lobbying for John Deere on a tax issue related to the depreciation of farm and agriculture equipment, Senate lobbying records show.
•TRANSPORTATION. The Transurban Group hired Patton Boggs to lobby on “issues regarding the public-private partnerships in the transportation arena,” according to Senate lobbying records.
