• ALCOHOL. The Anheuser Busch Companies hired Bryan Cave to lobby on several issues, including taxes and consumer product safety issues. Lobbyists Matt Jessee, a former special assistant to Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), and David Russell, who was the Republican chief counsel to the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, are representing the beer company, Senate lobbying records show.

• CABLE. Comcast , the cable giant, hired Multiple Strategies to lobby on net neutrality, digital transition and must-carry issues on Capitol Hill.

• DEFENSE. The Quarters Furniture Manufacturers Association has hired McDermott Will & Emery to lobby on Defense Department procurement policies regarding the furniture used in military dorms and other quarters, Senate lobbying records show. Stephen Ryan, a former assistant U.S. attorney, and Neil Quinter, a former Democratic counsel on the Senate Judiciary Technology, Terrorism and Government Information subcommittee, are lobbying for the association.

• INDIAN AFFAIRS. The Crow Tribal Council, a Native American tribal government, hired Jefferson Government Relations to convince lawmakers to amend existing tax provisions ìto encourage future development of tribeís natural resources and water rights compact,î Senate lobbying records show. Lobbyists Jeanne Morin and Patricia Power are working with the Crow council.

• LOCAL GOVERNMENT. The Ferguson Group is helping the Cardwell and Canyon Country Economic Development Council with an issue relating to federal flood policies, Senate lobbying records show. Matt Limbaugh, a former assistant secretary in the water and science department at the Interior Department, is lobbying for the development council.

• MARITIME. The Gulf Marine Repair Corp ., a shipyard based in Tampa, Fla., hired former Florida Rep. Jim Davis (D) and his new firm, Holland and Knight , to lobby on maritime issues on Capitol Hill.

• OIL AND GAS. Chevron USA has hired Breaux Lott Leadership Group to lobby on issues relating to trade, climate change and energy taxes. The lobbying team includes former Sens. John Breaux (D-La.) and Trent Lott (R-Miss.); their sons, John Breaux Jr. and Chester Trent Lott Jr.; and Bret Boyles, who was Lottís Senate chief of staff. The new firm also just signed on to represent the Coalition for Patent Fairness, a group of high-tech companies pushing to reform the nationís patent laws.
