• AGRICULTURE. American Peanut Shellers hired Stinson Morrison Hecker to lobby on issues “surrounding the peanut title of the 2008 farm bill,” according to federal lobbying records.

• BUSINESS. APCO Worldwide is lobbying for the Project Management Institute, according to its Senate lobbying registration. The firm is “promoting use of project management by the federal government,” the records state.

• ENERGY. Barbour Griffith & Rogers is lobbying for USEC, a nuclear energy company. Eric Burgeson, a former chief of staff at the Energy Department, is lobbying on behalf of USEC regarding an Energy Department loan guarantee program.

Elmendorf Strategies is lobbying for Gary-Williams Energy Corp. on oil and gas issues.

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. hired Beveridge & Diamond to lobby on issues relating to royalties and oil and gas permitting, Senate lobbying records show.

• ENVIRONMENT. Computer chip maker Intel hired Alcalde & Fay to lobby on climate change policy, according to Senate lobbying records.

• FINANCIAL SERVICES. Troutman Sanders Public Affairs Group is lobbying for the Futures Industry Association. Robert Leebern, former chief of staff to Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.); Patrick Anderson, former assistant to ex-Rep. Henry Bonilla (R-Texas); and Ben Noble, former aide to Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.); are lobbying for the association.

• LOCAL GOVERNMENT. The city of New Orleans hired Johnson, Madigan, Peck, Boland & Stewart to lobby for federal appropriations and issues relating to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Senate lobbying records show.

• PRESERVATION. Crowell & Moring is lobbying for the Edison Innovation Foundation, a nonprofit that works to preserve and promote the historic homes, laboratories and papers of Thomas Edison. Joseph Trapasso, a former White House counsel, and Kristina Pisanelli, a former legislative assistant to Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), are lobbying to win congressional support for a Thomas Edison National Historic Park.

• TRADE. Dewey & LeBoeuf is lobbying for the Southern Shrimp Alliance on matters relating to international trade policy, federal lobbying records show. Andrew Kentz, former chief of staff to Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.); Bradford Ward; and Alan Wolff are lobbying on behalf of the alliance.
