ENERGY. Miller & Chevalier is lobbying for Areva, a nuclear energy company. The firm is lobbying on Energy Department loan guarantees.

Intersource, which reclaims “off-speculation” refining products, hired Bracewell & Giuliani to lobby on its behalf.

FINANCE. Ogilvy Government Relations is lobbying for AIG Shareholders Group on the implementation of the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

Sovereign Bank hired the American Continental Group to lobby on banking and financial services issues.

FIRST RESPONDERS. The Alliance for Connecting First Responders hired Capitol Solutions to lobby for grants for state and local first responders, lobbying records show. David Taylor, former Republican staff director on the Senate Appropriations Commerce, Justice and Science subcommittee, and Dan Tate Jr., former legislative liaison under President Clinton, are lobbying for the Alliance.

FOOD. Holland & Hart is lobbying for Hormel Foods Corp. Nancy Bryson, a former general counsel at the Department of Agriculture, is tracking food safety legislation for the Austin, Minn.-based company.

HEALTH. The U.S. Soccer Foundation hired Cavarocchi Ruscio Dennis Associates to lobby for federal grants, including those that promote a healthy lifestyle and gang prevention efforts, Senate lobbying records show.

HOUSING. The Building Industry Coalition for Economic Recovery hired Bates & Byrne to lobby on “solutions for small to mid-sized builders and related building industry sectors to problems caused by the current housing and economic crisis,” Senate lobbying records show.

LABELING. The Cooper Company, which makes contact lenses, hired Latham & Watkins. The firm is lobbying on an issue related to the labeling of contact lenses.

MANUFACTURING. The Genesis Group is lobbying for Canton Drop Forge, which makes steel forgings. The company is seeking appropriations from the Defense and Energy departments.
