• Sander Lurie, former chief of staff to Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), has joined the Bokorny Group. Lurie also served previously as chief of staff to Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) and deputy staff director to the Senate Budget Committee.

• Van McMurtry and Alixandria Lapp have joined Parven Pomper Strategies, a Democratic lobbying firm. McMurtry, a former top lobbyist for Aetna, served as chief counsel to the Senate Finance Committee under then-Chairman Lloyd Bentsen (D-Texas). Lapp was the campaign director for former Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Rahm Emanuel (Ill.). She most recently served as executive director for NDN, formerly known as the New Democrat Network.

• Rob Harmala and Erik Huey have joined Kilpatrick Stockton as partners in the firm’s government affairs practice. A lobbyist and attorney, Harmala served previously as an aide to Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.) and as counsel to the International Operations Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Panel. A longtime lobbyist for the entertainment industry, Huey has written three screenplays, including one that was a finalist for the 2004 Sundance Feature Film Screenwriters Lab.

• Jamed Aalim-Johnson was named associate vice president of NASDAQ government relations. Johnson most recently served as chief of staff to Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.). He was the president of the bipartisan House Chiefs of Staff Association.

• Jeffrey Goodell has joined JetBlue as the company’s first director of government affairs. Goodell served most recently as a lobbyist for Sabre Holdings Corporation. He was chief of staff for former Rep. William Lipinski (D-Ill.).

• Zead Haddad, a former senior policy adviser at the U.S. Department of Energy, has joined B&D Consulting as vice president.

• Marcus H. Sachs has been named Verizon’s executive director of government affairs for national security policy. Sachs served as the Department of Homeland Security’s first Cyber Program director.

• Shawna Francis Watley has joined Holland & Knight as a senior policy adviser in the government practice. Watley most recently served as director of congressional affairs for the Democratic Leadership Council. She was legislative assistant to former Sen. Bob Kerrey (D-Neb.).
