• BUILDERS. The Centex Corp ., a national homebuilder, hired the C2 Group to lobby on tax matters. The lobbying team includes Lesley Elliott, a former deputy chief of staff to the secretary of the Senate, as well as Michael Hanson, Nelson Litterst, and John Cline.

• ENERGY. Tew Cardenas is lobbying for GMV Cos., of Reisterstown, Md., on an issue relating to ìpost-award government contract changes,î according to the Senate lobbying registration.

• HEALTHCARE. Strategic Health Care is seeking federal appropriations for Chinese Hospital, based in San Francisco. Lobbyists Sharon Cheng, Lara Crapo, Allison Fox, Paul Lee and Lennie Shewmaker are signed on to lobby for the hospital.

• LAW ENFORCEMENT. The Airborne Law Enforcement Association has hired Brandon Associates to promote the interests of airborne law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, including before Congress and federal agencies, according to the groupís lobbying registration it filed with the Senate.

• MISCELLANEOUS. The Sokolow Family, a litigant in a federal lawsuit against the Palestinian Authority, hired the Ballabon Group , a New York-based government relations firm, to lobby on issues relating to victims rights laws, according to Senate lobbying records.

• TELECOMMUNICATIONS. Barbour Griffith & Rogers is lobbying for Verizon Wireless , according to Senate lobbying records.
