• Rachel Lyons is the new director of public policy for Business and Professional Women/USA . Lyons has worked for Planned Parenthood , NARAL Pro-Choice America and the National Education Association . Lyons most recently served as deputy political director for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) presidential campaign in Manchester, N.H., where she managed women’s outreach efforts.

• Brooke Manning Chambers is the new director of federal government relations for TIAA-CREF . Chambers previously was manager of federal government relations for the company. Prior to joining the financial services company in April 2006, Chambers served in the State Department and White House.

• Cynthia Brown will join the American Medical Association as vice president of government affairs. Prior to joining AMA, Brown worked at the American College of Surgeons . Brown has also worked for the American Tort Reform Association and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association and was a staff assistant on the House Subcommittee on Health and the Environment.

• Allison Collins has been hired by Lewis-Burke Associates to work in the energy, transportation research and related infrastructure and defense research practice of the firm. Collins worked in the Department of Energy for several different offices, including the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and the National Nuclear Security Administration.

• Kurt L.P. Lawson is a new partner for Hogan & Hartson . Lawson will work in the firm’s employee benefits and executive compensation practice group. Before joining the firm, Lawson was at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman . Lawson also served in the Treasury Department from 1989 to 1993, and on President Bill Clinton’s healthcare reform task force.
