K Street’s Alpine Group has landed a pair of Capitol Hill aides with ties to Senate Democrats.
Lauren Bazel has joined the firm as a vice president. She is a former senior adviser to several senators — including John Kerry (Mass.), Mo Cowan (Mass.) and Maria Cantwell (Wash.) — and was an associate director for government affairs at the Center for American Progress. Bazel will help expand Alpine’s practice in tax, trade and finance policy.
“We are excited to have both Lauren and Sheila both with such extensive experience, high skill and strong reputations join the firm,” said Greg Means, principal and chief financial officer of Alpine, in a statement.
“Alpine Group is committed to growing and improving our client services by bringing on the most experienced and qualified professionals available. We’re thrilled to have Lauren and Sheila join our team.”
Alpine Group has made more than $7.8 million in lobbying fees for the first three quarters of 2013, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. BP, Duke Energy, Ford Motor Company and Nike are among Alpine’s corporate clients.
