• Steven Shaw has become a senior counsel at Covington & Burling. Before that, he worked as a contract debarment and suspension official for the Air Force. He also managed the Air Force’s Fraud Remedies Program and has served a partner at two national law firms, where he focused on civil fraud and white-collar crime.
• Myles D. Berman will become managing partner of Foley & Lardner’s Chicago office in August, replacing Foley partner Mark L. Prager. In addition to the managing partner role, Berman will also co-chair the firm’s national government relations practice, and will maintain his other environmental and energy policy work.
• Fitz Elder will join the Russell Group in September. He previously served as majority and minority clerk of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies. Before that, Elder worked as a legislative assistant for then-Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah). Most recently, Elder served on the staff of the National Rural Water Association (NRWA), where he “helped lead the legislative affairs team for the nation’s largest water and wastewater utility membership association.” He plans to continue his work with NRWA after he joins Russell Group.
