• APPROPRIATIONS. Ricchetti Inc. has been hired by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to lobby on “issues related to the funding for historic preservation projects within the National Park Service, and specifically Ellis Island National Monument,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Peter Kiefhaber, a former subcommittee staff director for the Senate Appropriations Committee, is lobbying for the trust.


• ENERGY. Alston & Bird has been hired by ConocoPhillips to lobby on “tax and other issues affecting the oil and gas industry,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Former Reps. Billy Tauzin (R-La.) and Earl Pomeroy (D-N.D.) are lobbying for the company.

 

Keystone Public Affairs has been hired by Utility Composite Solutions International Inc. for “seeking out federal opportunities and support for composite utility poles in energy infrastructure and disaster relief,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Brian Sowa, a former senior legislative aide to ex-Rep. John Peterson (R-Pa.), is lobbying for the company.


• HEALTHCARE. Podesta Group has been hired by the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston to lobby on “issues related to medical schools and health research,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Steve Northrup, a former health policy adviser to Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), and Jim Dyer, a former House Appropriations Committee staff director, are lobbying for the college.

 

The Glover Park Group has been hired by Trygg Pharma Inc., a pharmaceutical research and development company in Arlington, Va., to lobby on “FDA regulatory issues,” according to disclosure records. Elizabeth Engel, a former health policy adviser to the Senate Democratic Policy Committee, and John Myers, a former senior health and science policy adviser to Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.), are lobbying for the company.



• TRANSPORTATION. The Keelen Group has been hired by the National Air Traffic Controllers Association to lobby on legislation including the FAA Air Transportation Modernization and Safety Improvement Act and the Budget Control Act, according to disclosure records. Frank McCarthy, once a legislative director to Rep. Sue Kelly (R-N.Y.), and Stephen Borg, former deputy chief of staff to Rep. Timothy Johnson (R-Ill.), are lobbying for the union.
