By Jeremy Jacobs - 03/19/07 08:15 AM ET

Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellot LLC announced Monday that former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum (R) is joining its Washington office.

“After serving in the Senate for 12 years and the House for four, Rick Santorum brings a wealth of insight, experience and intelligence to our clients and their business affairs,” the chief executive of Eckert Seamans, Tim Ryan, said. “We are extremely pleased that Rick is joining our firm and that our clients will have the benefit of his understanding of what it takes for businesses to succeed in today’s global economy. He is highly respected among business leaders and we are very fortunate to have him as part of our firm.”

Santorum will provide business and strategic counseling services to Eckert Seamans’s clients.

“I am eager to return to this field and to put my experiences to work for Eckert Seamans’s clients. I look forward to providing the firm’s clients strategic advice on a broad range of business issues,” Santorum said.

Santorum served in the Senate from 1995 to 2007 and in the House of Representatives from 1991 to 1995.
