Lobbying world

•Barbara L. Shycoff was appointed senior vice president and legislative counsel to America’s Community Bankers. Shycoff comes from the Office of Thrift Supervision, where since 2005 she had served as special counsel in the regulation and legislation division. She previously worked as a federal lobbyist for American Express Co. and was counsel to the House Banking Committee (now the House Financial Services Committee).

•Michael Ryan was named executive director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s new Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness. Ryan previously served as general counsel to the American Stock Exchange and as counsel to the chairman of the National Association of Securities Dealers. Over the last year, he headed up the Chamber’s Commission on the Regulation of U.S. Capital Markets.

•Robin Conrad was promoted to executive vice president of the National Chamber Litigation Center, the legal policy arm of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She is a long-time veteran of the litigation center.

•Jennifer Bonar Gray has joined the National Multi Housing Council, where she will manage federal and state tax issues as vice president of tax. Gray most recently served as counsel to Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) on tax, trade and budget issues and was legislative counsel to former Sen. Peter Fitzgerald (R-Ill.). Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Gray was a manager at KPMG and practiced law at Hogan & Hartson.

•Zachary Sikes has joined the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging as senior vice president for business and corporate relations. Sikes most recently worked as a consultant to Pfizer Inc., where he oversaw the Medical Society eCooperative and managed many of the company’s partner relationships.

•Christopher P. Krese joined the National Association of Chain Drug Stores as senior vice president of marketing, communications and media relations. Krese most recently served as senior vice president of industry affairs for the American Frozen Food Institute.
