Lobbying Contracts

• ENERGY. The Center for Liquefied Natural Gas will be getting help from Mehlman Vogel Castagnetti in the push for increased exports.

• The General Services Administration has awarded a $6.9 million contract to Bayside Contractors to design and build a new hangar and administrative office at the Rafael Hernandez Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico,

• DEFENSE. Hannegan Landau Poersch Advocacy is building an impressive client list. 

• The National Institutes of Health awarded a contract worth up to $5.4 million to Fisher BioServices Inc., which describes itself as a “biorepository and biobanking, and cell therapy clinical trial management service provider.” The National Cancer Institute hired the company to manage, analyze and store chemicals used in the development of anti-cancer drugs.


• ENERGY. A top oil and gas trade group is getting some help from a former Democratic lawmaker. 

• The Treasury Department will be using specialty inks from a Switzerland-based company to print its currency and other government security documents. 

• BUDGET. Political science professors are getting lobbying help from a former congresswoman. Barbara Kennelly Associates, headed up by former Rep. Barbara Kennelly (D-Conn.), has been hired by the American Political Science Association to lobby on “[fiscal] 2014 Appropriations for State, Justice, Commerce — to eliminate restrictions on political science funding through the National Science Foundation,” according to lobbying disclosure records. 

• The National Institutes of Health is giving Tulane University in New Orleans a contract worth up to $80.4 million to assist with the development of a medication to protect against HIV

• BUDGET. Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill., has contracted with McAllister & Quinn for some budget help.

• FOREIGN RELATIONS. The rhinoceros lobby is charging into Washington.
