• BUDGET. Political science professors are getting lobbying help from a former congresswoman. Barbara Kennelly Associates, headed up by former Rep. Barbara Kennelly (D-Conn.), has been hired by the American Political Science Association to lobby on “[fiscal] 2014 Appropriations for State, Justice, Commerce — to eliminate restrictions on political science funding through the National Science Foundation,” according to lobbying disclosure records.

• Bryan Tackett has formed a new legislative affairs and consulting firm called Wexford Strategic Advisors Inc. that will collaborate with various firms and Washington figures. The firm plans to work with former Canadian Ambassador Paul Frazer and Democratic strategist Patrick Murphy. Tackett will also serve as a senior adviser to the Potomac Bridge Group.
